Tomato and Potato Soup

Bring to a boil:
1 1/2 quarts (6 cups) tomato water (solids removed for freezing)
Add:
1 teaspoon salt
5 medium potatoes cut in 1-inch cubes
1 serrano pepper, minced
1 chorizo sausage, sliced in 1/4-inch slices

Cook until potatoes are almost tender, then add:
2 teaspoons (or less) ground coriander
Just before serving add:
1 medium red onion, chopped fine

Serve over broken tortilla chips.
